2003 – 150 Years of Indian Railways Commemorative Coin Set

On the 1st of September 2013, Union Minister for railways, Nitish Kumar released the 150 Glorious Years of Indian Railways Network one of the Largest in the World. He was accompanied by Finance minister, Shri Jaswant Singh. The Coins were minted by the India Government Mint located at Kolkata with details as follows.

Proof Coin Sets
2 coin set – 100 Rupees & 2 Rupees ( in blister pack) issued at a price of Rs 850
2 coin set* – 100 Rupees & 2 Rupees ( in blister pack) – Re-striked in 2008 at a price of Rs 2520
[Restrike is nothing but a “R” on the Paper Cover and the coins are minted using the original Die] We’ll write more about the re-strike later.

UNC Coin Sets
2 coin set – 100 Rupees & 2 Rupees ( in blister pack) issued at a price of Rs 450
2 coin set* – 100 Rupees & 2 Rupees ( in blister pack) – Re-striked at a price of Rs 2110
